Miles of Heart: The Story of the Dan DeAngelo Invitational Hearts Tournament
Wynn “Biff” Sherman was born in Santa Monica , California . At the age of
4, his family moved to Del Moreno Drive to what was at the time a rural
portion of Woodland Hills in the San Fernando Valley . As the closely knit
neighborhood grew, Biff developed the lifelong friendships that are the
basis for the stories described in MILES OF HEART.

At Taft High School in Woodland Hills and later Pomona College in
Claremont , California , Biff was actively involved in athletics. While at
Pomona , he was named to NCAA Division lll All American Baseball
Teams, was drafted by the Detroit Tigers Organization and had a brief
minor league career. Biff was also selected as a California finalist in the
1975 Rhodes Scholar competition.

After receiving his MBA from Stanford University , Biff spent time in
Cleveland , Ohio and New York City with International Management
Group, a worldwide sports marketing organization, before returning to Los
Angeles to join the management consulting division of Peat Marwick
Mitchell & Co.

In 1982, Biff left Peat Marwick and joined AIMS Media, an educational
multimedia company, where he remained for the next twenty two years,
serving as director and president along with his two brothers.  In 2004,
AIMS was sold to Discovery Communications. Biff retired and is currently
is involved with various activities, including coaching high school baseball,
operating a summer baseball camp for kids, cycling, golfing and writing.

Biff and his wife Renee have four children, ages 21-25 and live in
Calabasas , California .
