| Ivan Burnell has never fought with his wife in their 26 years of marriage. Often they disagree, he says, but they resolve conflicts in ways that preserve the relationship. How? He and Dagny apply to their marriage the principles he has taught for years in the YES program he founded. For the past 35 years, Mr. Burnell has been inspiring people to achieve more than they ever dreamed possible. Born in Brooklyn in 1929, he grew up with an intimate knowledge of The Great Depression and its effect on people's minds. Early in life he joined a family-owned manufacturing business where he was able not only to use his innate engineering skills but also to develop a management style that promoted self-confident workers as well as top quality, efficient production work. After acquiring a degree in engineering, he went on to other challenges, including a stint as a consultant to NASA in preparation for the first manned flight to the moon. He has also worked as chief engineer, insurance agent, farmer, rancher, retail storeowner, and vice-president of manufacturing. In 1978, Mr. Burnell started his own company, International Personal Development, and compiled his experience into a set of courses called the YES program, which has helped thousands of people around the world to make their lives happier and more fulfilled. These students and clients became the motivation for Mr. Burnell's books, The Power of Positive Doing and Say Yes to Life. He has also created a six-tape cassette series, "The YES Factor," which deals with the principles and philosophies of his YES program and books. Ivan and Dagny Burnell live in Center Ossipee, New Hampshire, where he teaches advanced programs and develops new teachers for the YES program. He is also a professional speaker and consultant, helping companies to develop management and sales techniques that result in happy, motivated employees - and successful and profitable businesses |
