Children of Jewish Holocaust Survivors
Los Angeles is leading a grass roots
campaign to free the Israeli Soldiers
kidnapped by Hamas and Hezbollah
terrorists, the incident which led to the
war between Israel and Hezbollah last
summer.  This is only one of many
activities that CJHSLA is involved in
during these troubling times that
threaten all peace loving nations
around the world.  Donate to help this

The kidnappings of Gilad Shalit, Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev, now
missing for over six months after being abducted by Hamas and Hezbollah,
were the primary cause for Israel to take action in Lebanon, and the release
of these soldiers still remains a tenet of the UN negotiated ceasefire.  This
fact seems to have been forgotten by the media and those who continue to
work against the best interests of Israel and subvert the policy of the United
States and the Middle East.  The debate has now degenerated into a
prisoner exchange program, which was not part of the wording in UN
Resolution 1701, no matter how one might try and read between the lines.

The agony of the families of these kidnapped Israeli soldiers is extreme.
They have not heard a word regarding the fate of their loved ones, who are
being held captive for political ransom.  It is crucial that you join us on a
full-scale advocacy effort to help bring about an end to the inhumanity of
captivity and to call for the release of all Israeli MIAs and POWs.
In the Summer of 2005, Israeli citizens from 21 settlements in the Gaza
Strip and four in the West Bank were forced from their lands in an
attempt to secure peace with the Palestinians. Jews lives were
uprooted by fellow Jews, in this emotionally charged political event.

WITHDRAWAL FROM GAZA documents the lengths to which the
Jewish people would go to enable peace, the risks they were willing to
take, and theheartbreaking price they were ultimately required to pay.

CJHSLA is an organization of people
who refuse to stand idly by!
In discussing California Bill AB 221, we want to point out
that we are being allowed a forum of transparent exchange—which is
unavailable to companies doing business in Iran.  Companies, such as

Hyundai
, Daimler-Chrysler, Alcatel and dozens more, use Western
business models and accounting practices.  These protocols are crucial
in determining a company's worthiness for the multi-billion dollar
investments of
CalPERS, CalSTRS and other unions.  The future of
California's present and future retirees is in the balance.

Does Iran fit the profile of a safe investment?  No, not at all.
Transparency is a key component of investment criteria.  Americans
woefully learned from the dot.com bust of 2000 that hype doesn't
replace solid accounting and record-keeping.  "Iran Incorporated" does
not do business with such transparency and diligence.  Its companies
are not accountable to its stockholders.  It is difficult to figure where
Iran's governmental interests end and business interests begin.

The current driving policy of Iran's government is to build nuclear
weapons.  In doing so, against the prohibitions of
the international community, Iran uses deceptive business practices to
obtain the necessary materials, equipment, resources and
infrastructure to accomplish this task.  When Leybold ships a vacuum
melting furnace to Iran to produce washing machines, there is no way
to verify if this furnace actually went to the factory to increase
production capacity and, ultimately, profits.  Or did the machine go to
one of Iran's nuclear weapons facilities at Natanz or Isfahan to shape
molten radioactive materials?  Iran regularly uses front companies to
evade controls on responsible financial institutions to avoid suspicion.
According to recent reports, Iranian banks request that their names be
removed from financial transactions in the international marketplace.

Israel has been called an “Occupier” of “Palestinian” Land. A Complete
and Utter lie according to renowned expert,
Eli Hertz, who will be
challenging Palestinian Arabs claims to Judea and the Samaria territories
also known as the West Bank and Gaza, in his ground breaking
presentation at the
Stephen S. Wise Temple in West Los Angeles on
Sunday June 24th. At 3 p.m.

Highlights of Mr. Hertz’s background include his positions as Chairman
of CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America
), President of
Myth and Facts, Inc., Executive Vice President of the
Israel-America Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Executive
Council of AIPAC. Prior to his arrival in the U.S. in 1974, Hertz served
nearly seven years in the Israeli Defense Force as a paratrooper and
was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain. As a child of Holocaust
survivors, he understand the need to remembers the past and struggle
for a safer and better future for the Jewish people.

Professor Nicholas Rostow, who served as General Counsel to the U.S.
Permanent Representative to the United Nations (2001-05) said: “Eli
Hertz has performed a notable service in recalling the 20th century
history of Palestine and the origin in international law of Jewish national
rights there. Too often, commentators, diplomats, and international
organizations ignore this history because it is inconvenient to recall that
Jews have rights in Palestine. Rather than forgetting or ignoring history
and law, international efforts should face the facts that Eli Hertz
marshals and seeks ways to vindicate and respect international rights
of Jews and Arabs alike.”

The author of several important books and monographs, including
“Reply” and “This Land is My Land,” Mr. Hertz’s work has been described
by noted journalist, author and blogger Melanie Phillips (“Londonistan”)
as worthy of being “distributed to all media outlets and
parliamentarians.”

This unique event is presented by the Alliance for Israel and World
Jewry and is sponsored or co-sponsored by eight major Jewish and
Christian/Jewish organizations.

Udi was born in Nahariya, and is the son of Miki and Shlomo and
older brother of Yair (26) and Gadi (23). After dating for nine years,
he and his wife Karnit were married last year. Udi completed his
undergraduate studies at the Technion (Israel Institute of
Technology) and is currently a graduate student in environmental
engineering. Udi is a kind, loving and caring person, always ready to
offer a helping hand in any situation. He is a man of principles and
values, is knowledgeable about many subjects and is an avid
photographer.

On Wednesday, July 12, 2006, Udi was abducted and taken to
Lebanon after Hezbollah attacked his military patrol.
Gilad was born in Nahariya but was raised in Mitzpe Hilla in the
Western Galilee. He is the son of Aviva and Noam and brother of Yoel
(23) and Hadas (16). He follows sports teams and tournaments all
over the world, from tennis to basketball and cycling. Gilad is a
well-mannered, quiet and soft-spoken young man, with a smile that
lights up his face.

Gilad began his military service a little over a year ago in July 2005.
He followed his older brother Yoel into the armed forces and despite
being able to avoid combat due to medical reasons, he preferred to
serve in a combat unit. Prior to his abduction, he had been on duty
guarding the settlements around Gaza.

Since the attack at Kerem Shalom on Sunday, June 25, 2006,
Gilad has been held in the Gaza Strip by Hamas.

Eldad was born and raised in Kiryat Motzkin. He is the son of Tova
(of blessed memory) and Zvi, and brother of Benny, Ofer and Eyal.
After completing three years of military service in the elite Givati
infantry brigade, he became a law student at Bar Ilan University
with the hopes of becoming a law professor. Eldad is loved by and
immensely popular among all who know him. He readily offers aid to
anyone in need.

Eldad was called up for military reserve duty after completing his
exams at Bar Ilan University. Three days before his abduction, he
visited his family and participated in the annual memorial for his
mother. The following day, he returned to complete the remainder
of his reserve duty.

On Wednesday, July 12, 2006, Eldad was abducted and taken
to Lebanon after Hezbollah attacked his military patrol.
Stickers offered by CJHSLA bring attention to teh plight of
the Israeli soliders.  While two of these men have been
confirmed as dead, with the other suspected of be dead,
this has not changed the initial mission of bringing more
awareness about Israeli politics and what needs to be
done to preserve a country founded on hope and promise
for the Jews.
